So yeah, threads who's purpose is to discuss and talk about your favorite types of music and why you like them. Since I made the thread, I suppose it's only proper I start.
I'm a pretty big power metal fan. Love the genre for a lot of different reasons. Most bands seem to focus on catchy music(or simply intense for other kinds of metal) and lyrics and vocals that the audience can relate to but are rather individualistic and self-centered.(or not caring and just trying to sound bad a** for other kinds of metal) Power Metal uses it's music to emphasize mood, theme, and the vocals while the lyrics portray an epic tale far more important then the mild struggles of everyday life.
I like Celtic music for pretty much the opposite reason. It's catchy and tends to be rather simple and doesn't pretend to be anything else.
Favorite bands include Blind Guardian, Falconer, Kamelot, and Gaelic Storm. And I suppose I'll even include some links to some videos too.
